Biweekly Update: 36 Weeks

I’m technically at 37 weeks today as I write this but we’ll just say I’m 36 weeks for this post. I’ll take the extra time. 🙂 It’s so weird thinking that baby could really be here any day or he could take his sweet time and decide not to show for another 5 weeks. At least I know that if I hit 42 weeks, the end will really come and there will be no more waiting or guessing.

35 weeksWe had an ultrasound this week to get baby’s size/position, etc. He was in the right position, so let’s hope he doesn’t decide to make at last minute flips in there! According to the ultrasound the baby was actually measuring about a week bigger but the doctor guessed that he’s a little less than 6 pounds right now. Really it’s just a guess. Other than that, all is healthy and we are waiting until he is ready to choose his birthday.

How far along: 36 weeks

Maternity clothes: Even some maternity clothes aren’t fitting too well. Hard to find shirts that are long enough in the front! Definitely not buying anything else.

Sleep: Started making two bathroom trips a night but have been able to sleep pretty well besides that.

Miss anything: Really nothing except my energy. It’s hard for me to rest as much as I know my body needs!

Best moment this week: Getting to see baby again with the ultrasound and finding out he is in the right position and growing well. We’ve had more downtime recently, which has been nice.

Movement: He’s an active little one.

Food cravings: I need to stop making Paleo baked goods. Just made these delicious brownies and raspberry chocolate chip muffins. This is what happens when I don’t have anything else to do around the house!

36 weeksAnything making you queasy or sick: I’ve been having more intestinal issues over the past few weeks which isn’t fun. I do know that once getting closer to labor, your body can decide that digesting food is too much work because it needs to prepare for delivering that baby. More than likely that’s what is going on. Just hope to get my gut back on track soon. Eating all those Paleo treats probably isn’t really helping either…

Have you started to show yet: Lots more comments in public like at the grocery store or farmer’s market about when I’m due. Some people are shocked to find out how close I am and others seem to be questioning why I haven’t had the baby yet…

Gender: Still a boy.

Happy or moody most of the time: Just anxious to finally meet baby and get to know him. Of course I’m still nervous about the whole birth process and being a Mom, but excited to see what this new stage of life is going to bring.

Looking forward to: Enjoying my last few weeks being pregnant. I truly feel that my pregnancy has gone so smooth and it’s going to be weird not being pregnant any more. I’m starting to forget what it feels like to NOT be pregnant, so that will be a welcome change.
