Biweekly Update: 28 Weeks

Time for another update. The third trimester is in full swing and I’m feeling much of the same. I did have some sharp lower abdominal pain on my right side 3 days in a row this week. I’m pretty sure it’s round ligament pain. It only lasted maybe 5-10 minutes each time but if it keeps coming back or lasts longer, I’ll see what the doctor has to say. I also learned this week that baby does not like loud fireworks. He was going crazy on the 4th!

27 WeeksHow far along: 28 weeks

Total weight gain: I’ve decided to start leaving this off of my biweekly posts. I feel that every single woman and pregnancy is totally different and I do not want others to compare themselves to me or myself to others. According to my doctor, I’m on track for a healthy weight gain of 25-30 lbs by 40 weeks.

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a few of my regular clothes but maternity for the most part.

Sleep: No complaints! Having lots of dreams that can leave me feeling exhausted in the morning but that’s it.

Miss anything: Not getting out of breath so easily. One trip up the stairs and I’m huffing and puffing!

Best moment this week: Baby shower in Omaha. It was so much fun getting to see family and friends. We are truly blessed to have received so much love for our little baby.

Movement: Still going strong. Mostly active first thing in the morning and after I eat. Some days he’s crazy, others pretty chill. 28 Weeks

Food cravings: I keep getting this question and I still don’t have a real answer. I almost always want something sweet after lunch or dinner and I’ve been trying to stick to dark chocolate or Paleo treats if I have them available. Usually something small does the trick. It’ll probably be good to get back to Austin to get away from my Mom’s layered brownie dessert she just made with chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, caramel and heath bars. Will power around those = not easy!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope. My cold seems to still be slightly lingering but I’m on the home stretch.

Have you started to show yet: Yup.

Gender: Thinking this one hasn’t changed!

Happy or moody most of the time: Still pretty much the same. I know when we get back to Austin, I’m going to be a little obsessive about organizing all of the new baby stuff we got. The nesting phase is creeping in.

Looking forward to: Our ultrasound this week which is 3D. We also have fun things coming up in July: sister-in-law visits (2 of them), friend and work baby shower and our first birthing class (not sure this one counts as “fun” but we’ll see).
