Biweekly Update: 22 Weeks

It has been a great two weeks! We found out we are having a sweet baby boy! And we also went to South Padre Island, Texas for our official Babymoon vacation. It was a great time and I’m glad we were able to have our little weekend away.

The beginning of this last week I was having some intense back and hip pain. At first I thought it was just normal pregnancy pains and was doing yoga and stretching it out every day. By Thursday I was in excruciating pain and had a hard time walking, sitting and standing. I went to the doctor on Friday and I had overstretched my hip and it had title inward and down. He did some realignment and about four days later, I’m almost back to 100%. At first I thought I was going to have to endure the pain throughout the entire pregnancy and am so happy I ended up going to the doctor for a simple fix. I definitely had a few meltdowns last week…

IMGP0227How far along: 22 weeks

Total weight gain: 9.5 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Pretty much. Most of my regular clothes are uncomfortable. Happy to have a stash of hand me downs that are a little big now but I know will be great as my belly continues to grow.

Sleep: Getting better. I’ve been having to wake up a few times a night to put a heat pack on my hip/back to help ease the pain but I’m hoping it will get better in the next few days.

Miss anything: Tropical drinks. Hard to go to the beach and not have any fruity drinks!

Best moment this week: The gender reveal party for sure! I’m still overwhelmed with all the love and support we have from family and friends both near and far. It was truly a memorable moment. Also our Babymoon to South Padre Island tops my favorite moment this week.

Movement: Yes but pretty sporadic. One day I’ll feel him a ton and others barely at all. Still haven’t gotten Joe to feel him yet.

22 weeksFood cravings: English muffins and hot sauce, specifically Frank’s RedHot sauce. I didn’t even know I wanted English muffins until I was at the grocery store and you could get a free package if you bought a gigantic box of Cheerios. So I did it…and made some delicious egg, sausage and cheese biscuit sandwiches. Obviously not Paleo but I know once I have a few I won’t want them anymore. And the hot sauce is just ridiculous. I’ve been eating it on absolutely everything (well maybe not fruit or dessert) but pretty much everything else. It tastes so dang good!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing really. If I eat too many sweet things it makes me feel a little sick but that happened before pregnancy.

Have you started to show yet: Yep.

Gender: Sweet baby boy! 🙂

Happy or moody most of the time: I feel like I’m still happy. Finding out that we are officially having a boy put me in a state of shock for a few days but generally I’m pretty happy. The days I’m not, I’m usually overwhelmed with how quickly time is going and how four months really isn’t that far away.

Looking forward to: Planning out the nursery and registering for fun baby stuff.
