Biweekly Update: 20 Weeks

Another two weeks closer to meeting Thing 3!

19 WeeksHow far along: 20 weeks

Total weight gain: ~7 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Mostly wearing maternity shirts or larger shirts and the same skirt/pants every week that still fit. I did get a good pair of maternity jean capris that I like. Also finally bought some new comfy/workout shorts in larger sizes since I was down to two pairs that fit! I will be wearing those all summer long.

Sleep: Still good but snoring here and there…

Miss anything: A delicious runny egg and not having to worry if every piece of meat I’m eating is cooked completely through. And then questioning it even after I’ve thoroughly examined it and reheated it twice…

Baby 20 WeeksBest moment this week: Our 20-week ultrasound! It was so fun getting to see the baby again and he/she was moving around like crazy. Can’t wait to find out if we have a little karate kid or cheerleader on our hands. 🙂

Movement: Yes! I think I actually felt some movement around 18-19 weeks but it was hard to tell if it was real or wishful thinking. This past week the movements have been getting much stronger and I can feel them from the outside sometimes. I keep trying to get Joe to feel it but we can’t get the timing right. He/she also really likes to kick up the movement whenever I’m laying down or relaxing. Sign of what’s to come?

Food cravings: Peaches!! I went grocery shopping last week looking for some and they had no fresh ones and were completely out of frozen peaches. Are they really that popular? Luckily, Joe was able to take some from his work’s weekly fruit basket delivery. I was in heaven. Also just craving good Paleo foods: lamb burgers with fried egg (yummm), sweet potatoes, avocados, apples with almond butter and steak. Though I did get some chocolate peanut butter moose tracks ice cream this week. A pregnant woman craving dessert should never be allowed to go to the grocery store alone.

20 weeksAnything making you queasy or sick: Not really. I even made salmon cakes the other day and was able to eat them with no issues…fish is back! I’ve been enjoying cooking a lot and eating pretty frequently.

Have you started to show yet: Definitely. I had my first public recognition of my pregnant belly this week by a few people.

Gender: So soon. May 17 will be here before we know it!

Happy or moody most of the time: I think I’m doing better in the moody department but Joe may be a better person to ask this question. I feel like my forgetfulness has hit an all-time high this week too.

Looking forward to:  The gender reveal party and celebrating baby with friends and family. Thankful for family willing to travel to Austin for this. Going to be so much fun!
