Scroll Sawing

I have taken up a new hobby, one that some call the sewing of woodworking. I had been searching for something that fits me in the life stage that I’m in right now and something that I would enjoy doing without causing too much frustration or hassle -> enter the scroll saw.

I was first introduced to the scroll saw by an old neighbor who was cutting out his bosses name in wood as a gift to put on his desk. I loved the idea but never looked into it much until years later when my spare time became limited.

I came across an instagram page of an artist that only uses different species of wood and creates beautiful artwork (https://www.instagram.com/scrollsawscribbler/). This provided some inspiration but I’m not much of an artist. Luckily for me, there are many plans out there that one can follow or cherry-pick from in order to come up with their own unique designs.

For now, I’m still playing around with different techniques to see what I like the best but here’s what I’ve done so far, using the cheapest scroll saw I could find (a Wen). Since I liked the hobby so much and I anticipate doing this for years to come, I have since purchased a DeWalt but all of these were cut on the Wen.
