Grew up in an awesome family, loving sisters, loving mother and father and a few dogs along the way.
I’m middle class, I’m white.
Lived in a safe neighborhood, in a safe town, in a safe state. The worst things I’d seen as a kid was a neighborhood rebel riding his motorcycle on the sidewalks. The worst thing I’d heard about was a fight between 2 rival high school football teams that sent numerous people to the hospital but no one seriously injured.
To say I was sheltered is probably a huge understatement, either that or we just lived in simpler times.
I was not culturally, religiously, ethnically, or racially diverse.
Recapping middle school, high school, and college, I could sum it up in 1 word: girls. I put myself in some bad situations which ultimately got me kicked out of my house.
I was initially raised catholic but early on in my life my mom started going to a southern baptist church. I would say I didn’t really have a clear understanding of what God, Jesus, or religion meant until some point in college.
My wife and I started dating senior year of high school and kept a long distance relationship until she got her masters degree and moved in with me. We got married shortly after.
A few years into our marriage we had our son.
A year and half later we had a miscarriage.
