This week’s (or month’s) challenge is not only about getting you to go to church but about getting you to go to the right church.
I will touch on my thoughts about church tomorrow and why I think church is good and why I think church is bad. But most of the reasons I say NOT to go to church can be fixed by finding the right church for you.
For those of you that are already a regular member at a church, I want you to take a step back and think about where you were in your walk with God when you started going there, and where you are now. If it hasn’t changed much, I would say that you should start looking for a new church OR that you need to make more of a commitment and get involved. Church is what you make of it and you can’t expect much if you don’t make any effort to get closer to God.
For those of you that don’t think you need church, my challenge for you is to reconsider. My personal beliefs are that there are a lot of churches out there for the wrong reasons. So maybe you’ve had a bad experience at church in the past, maybe you’ve had 10 bad experiences in the past, but the joy you will receive once you find that perfect fit will topple all of those previous occasions.
Finding the right church for you is critical. It can be the difference between living a “lukewarm” Christian life and living a life for Christ.
